The term "suedehead" came into use as the sixties gave way to the seventies to describe the fashionable look that emerged out of the skinhead style previously sported by the largely white, working class youths who's musical tastes leaned towards soul and reggae rather than the heavy rock of Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull and Deep Purple that the hairy's preferred. Kingston Sounds present fourteen - seventeen on the CD - tracks - all produced by Striker Lee, that purport to represent the sounds the suedeheads grooved to back then.
