Dennis Harris' old school UK reggae label Dip rises again in the form of this eccentric collection originally released back in 1975 and finding the genius Lee Perry at the Black Ark but just prior to the ground-breaking phased and multi-layered sound that emerged from the Ark a year later as showcased on the Max Romeo and Junior Murvin albums. Some great tracks here; Enter The Dragon, replete with a Perry burp solo, the two strange Sam Carty tracks, the mad travelogue of Cane River Rock, King (Watty) Burnett's I Man Free, fondly remembered by Sir Coxsone aficionados, The Gladiators Orchid 45 Time, Leo Graham's Jump Up and Linval Thompson's Fu Kung Man... a fascinating glimpe into another musical world.
