Great 1967 two-sider from Studio One, Swing Easy, one of the classic foundational Brentford Road instrumentals, versioned many times in reggae, its familiar melody line borrowed from the 1964 musical Fiddler On The Roof. Ringo Rock is a tuff lurching rocksteady treatment of the ska classic Ringo, its own stirring melody line adapted from the song Ringo Oiwake sung by Misora Hibari in the 1952 Japanese film Girl Of Apple Park which I can only assume must have been a feature at the popular movie theatre in Jamaica in the 50's and 60's in between the cowboy and gangster flicks. A tasty treat from the latest batch of Studio One's.
