Great new 12” to kick off the 2018 release cycle. One can tell instantly the quality and investment that has gone into the making and releasing of this record. The sleeve itself doesn’t cut any corners, colourful and vibrant. The tune is rich with clear instrumentation and the vocals are all excellent. Ken Boothe’s offering is impactful and soulful. The chorus is empowering and the riddim is cohesive and well balanced. The lead guitar is very artful and the bassline provides the undercurrent. I really like the second vocal offering, ‘Scatter Dem’… Sounds very different to Boothe’s offering. The singer’s voice is lighter and again offers up all the soul food that the roots fraternity thrive off. So all round this is an excellent production on all levels, aesthetic and sonic.
