Absolutely stunning collection of Bunny Wailer's early solo sides originally issued only in Jamaica as 45rpm 7" vinyl singles on his Solomonic label. Dub Store have been busily reissueing these treasures as 7" singles for some years now and have now collected them all on two essential CD's. On the evidence here, it could easily be argued that Bunny was the most gifted vocalist and songwriter in the Wailers. The original versions of Burnin' and Blackheart Man tracks such as Bide Up, Pass It On, Battering Down Sentence and Rasta Man are here, along with gems like Arabs Oil Weapon, plus attendant versions, not to mention the transcendant Tread Along, with its impenetrable lyric that pulls in Jamaican sayings, sticks of macaroni and Alice In Wonderland, and alone bears evidence to some kind of genius.
