Jamaican Recordings reissue one of the toughest Striker Lee / King Tubby’s dub albums of the mid seventies, Creation Of Dub. Originally issued in Jamaica in 1975 on Total Sounds, then pressed in the UK as King Tubby Meets The Agrovators At Dub Station and credited to Tommy McCook & The Agrovators. It contains killer dubwise mixes to Johnny Clarke’s Creation Rebel and 10 To One, Cornel Campbell’s Press Along Natty, Jackie Edwards’ So Jah Say and Linval Thompson’s Long Long Dreadlocks amongst more traditional Striker Lee do-over fare. The standout track is the stunning Jamaican Roots Dub, titled The Dub Station on the original UK press, with its Goldfinger intro and ultra-heavy bass and drums denouement, a dub to the stupidly obscure Jamaican Fruits Of African Roots by one Sheila Rickards only ever released in small quantity in Canada back in the late seventies. Cover features great portrait of Bunny Lee from back in the day.
