Added 29/09/09: The latest in this useful Greensleeves series reflecting the rising popularity of the so-called one-drop style, basically a catch-all epithet for any old school style reggae riddims, love songs, ballads and anything that isn’t ragga, or its modern equivelent. Some big hits here; Lukie D & M’Lonie’s No Air, Gappy Ranks’ Heaven In Her Eyes, Marcia & Busy’s Automatic, but it must be hard to compile such things these days, as so few records are getting released compared with only a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, for a handy trawl of contemporary popular reggae music, this is the place to stop. GRE2049
