Trevor Byfield - Tell Me That You Love Me / Version (Fox Fire / DKR) US 7"
Long Time collector's headache from the late seventies, especially for its outrageous dub, apparently mixed at Tubby's, but quite unlike anything else mixed there. Famous for the seminal "scratching" heard at the start - probably created by rubbing the tape backwards and forwards across the tape head rather that true scratching, but effective nonetheless. Later on, the engineer draws out a piece of severely distorted echo that sounds like a locomotive is steaming through the studio... astonishing.
