Added 05/01/10: Gruff voiced singjay Solo Banton has assembled a nicely varied set of riddims to expound his lyrics over for Kris Kemist’s Reality Shock label. Some nice and heavy Yard style roots for tracks such as Stronger and Revolution Time alongside some more upbeat styles for the likes of Jimmy and the title track, also released as a single on Urban Seated Records. Comparable to the kind of thing Alborosie has made his name with, this is an album worth checking out for roots fans, especially as it carries five tough dubs mixed by such roots luminaries as Dougie Wardrop and Russ Disciples.
