George Nooks - Sings Dennis Brown - Double CD (Tads)
As a youth, George Nooks recorded as a deejay under the name Prince Mohammed riding a number of classic riddims for Joe Gibbs back in the late seventies. Now as a big man he is one of reggae music’s most popular singers with dozens of hits to his credit, styling his singing voice in the manner of his friend Dennis Brown. Here, he pays tribute to Dennis covering eighteen of the Crown Prince’s classic songs including Ghetto Girl, Hold On To What You Got, Money In My Pocket – plus a riotous combination with Beenie Man - Revolution, Cassandra, Wolf & Leopards, Sitting & Watching and Westbound Train. As a bonus there is a disc full of “Karaoke” versions for you to sing along to.
