Added 13/05/09: Debut album from Dubkasm, the roots and dub brainchild of Brazilian musician Digistep. Recorded at the Dubkasm Studio in Brazil with overdubs done at studios in London, Nottingham, Bristol, Norway and Digitaldubs Studio in Rio de Janeiro and featuring vocals from Dub Judah, on From The Foundation, issued as a limited edition single earlier in the year (now unavailable), Tena Stelin, Christine Miller, Afrikan Simba, Levi Roots and Ras Addis, Transform I is an ambitious labour of love with music ranging from the dark and foreboding Iration Steppas style Zulu Dawn, Babylon Ambush and Hail Jah, to the old school rasta chants of Moses to the one drop Marley style of There’s A Love. Vocals and dubs, instrumentals featuring Digistep’s horns arrangements, Brazilian percussion… Dubkasm has it all going on. The double vinyl comes in a beautiful gatefold sleeve featuring a stunning piece of naïve art from Ras Ropert. Quality stuff. DUBKCDLP01
