Markie Lyrics’ Universal Roots celebrates a decade of releasing top-notch UK roots and culture with this excellent collection of tracks by various artists all previously only available as 7” or 10” 45’s. Markie formed his RDK sound system in 1989 and has played countless sessions in south London and at free festivals since then. The Universal Roots label was formed in 1998 and this collection is a good representation of the music that has emerged since then.
