Excellent compilation of rare recordings from singer / musician Mikey Ras Starr, perhaps best known, if at all, for two seventies roots titles; Jah Man Of Calvary and Got To Say Love. An expressive singer, songwriter and musical arranger, responsible along with Dean Fraser, for the sound of Israel Vibration’s Same Song album, sometime member of Light Of Saba (Some Say This), he somehow got overlooked back in the day, but if quality seventies roots is your thing, this CD will delight. Every track has its merit, and indeed tracks such as Old Time Religion, Fire & Rain, Cornfield and Market Place Revolution are stunning examples of deep roots reggae music, not surprising considering the quality of the musicians involved such as Carlton Barrett, Mikey Boo, Robbie Shakespeare, Val Douglas, Tyrone Downey, Peter Tosh, Geoffrey Chung etc.
